Receive RECORDED critiques of your songs or lyrics
through the mail or by mp3
THIS IS NOT A CHECKLIST APPROACH --
BUT A DETAILED ANALYSIS
By recording your critique we are able to address specific melody issues and make melody and/or chord suggestions if necessary.
WRITERS WHO HAVE RECEIVED OUR CRITIQUES HAVE GONE ON TO SIGN SONG PUBLISHING DEALS, STAFF-WRITING DEALS; MAJOR RECORD DEALS -- AND HAVE WON TOP PRIZE IN MAJOR CONTESTS.
OUR STUDENTS HAVE HAD THEIR SONGS INCLUDED IN TV AND FILMS -- AND RECORDED BY ARTISTS INCLUDING: MARTINA McBRIDE, RANDY TRAVIS, REBA McENTIRE, AND MORE.
NOTE: Jason Blume does not personally do the critiques. He has personally trained a staff of professional songwriter/producer evaluators whose songs and/or productions have been recorded by major artists -- including Alison Krauss, Patti LaBelle, Michael Bolton and a #1 Christian hit. They are having success in the current music market and, therefore, can help you craft your songs for today's market. Using Jason Blume’s methods, the evaluators provide in-depth, supportive critiques and suggestions to help you write the very best songs you’re capable of.
Send a CD in its case (or MP3) with your song(s) OR lyrics (typed or clearly printed). Be sure to include lyric sheets. In 2 - 4 weeks you'll receive a CD (or MP3) with a detailed, constructive critique of your songs, including analysis of the:
- LYRIC -- MELODY -- STRUCTURE -
- TITLE - & - IDEA -
- POTENTIAL FOR THE CURRENT MARKET -
NOTE: The chances are that we’ll suggest specific revisions to make your songs even stronger, so there's no need to invest in a demo prior to the critique.
A rough work tape (even a capella) is sufficient.
Send a check (or VISA/MC information, including your address, expiration date, and three-digit security code) payable to Moondream Music (address below).
$30 for one song (or lyric)
$55 for two; $80 for three
DON'T SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON DEMOS
UNTIL YOU SPEND THIRTY BUCKS
TO BE SURE YOUR SONG IS READY --
AND AS STRONG AS YOU CAN MAKE IT!!
We recommend NOT sending more than three songs the first time -- until you're sure that we can help you become the best songwriter you can be.
NOTICE: The office will be closed from May 15, 2008, until June 16, 2008.

2/7/2008 - "The level on talent in your group there is undeniable. What a privilege to have someone like Rick (nicely and accurately) beat the heck out your tune.....ha.
As you know....when you write these things you tend to get very close to them.....so....I'll probably set everything aside for awhile.I've got a few other songs that are just about ready and I'll certainly send them in to your group to get the 'first firing in the kiln'. It's refreshing to get a review from people who aren't relatives or ppl who owe you money." ML

"I just wanted to thank you very much for the insightful critique of my song. I think your thoughts and input are exactly right on. I will heed your advice and resubmit sometime in the next 2/3 weeks as I do think the song “might’’ have some legs with some more work." DZ
12/19/07 - "I have used your services in the past and think you are one of the best. Your feedback provides insight and I have grown as a writer because of it. Rick has been especially helpful with his knowledge and understanding of the craft. I can't thank him enough." L.L, NY
11/2/07 - "I just wanted to thank you for your input on the songs I’ve sent you so far. You’ve offered valuable insight and made concrete suggestions as to how to improve them. I really appreciate that.
This is a far cry from so many other evaluation services that simply make abstract comments like, “the chorus could be stronger” or, “the lyric doesn’t feel right”. Those comments are pointless for anyone sincerely working at the craft of songwriting and is interested in writing great songs that will interest people." JS
5/21/2007 - "Thank you for listening to our music and for your valuable comments. Your reviews gave us a lot to think about for all of our songs. We look forward to getting more music to you soon." -- GC & CR, Florida
