he 2nd Annual Texas Songwriters Cruise is a combination songwriting conference and 5-Day Caribbean vacation rolled into one. The cruise will leave Galveston, Texas on December 2, 2006, aboard the Carnival Cruise Ship "Ecstasy", with ports of call in Cozumel and Playa del Carmen/Calica in the Mexican Caribbean. (Cozumel is a gateway to spectacular Mayan ruins and both ports have incredible beaches.)

The cruise will include multiple opportunities to pitch your songs to publishers and music industry professionals, network with successful music pros, and attend classes by proven hit makers and artist development pros regarding the business and craft of songwriting.

The faculty will include Jason Blume, who has written songs on albums by Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, Collin Raye, the Oak Ridge Boys, Jesse McCartney, Steve Azar, John Berry, and many more. Jason’s songs are on albums that have sold more than 50 million copies and he is one of the few writers to ever have singles on Billboard’s Pop, Country, and R&B charts – all at the same time. Blume is the author of 6 Steps to Songwriting Success and Inside Songwriting, both published by Billboard Books, and This Business of Songwriting. He teaches acclaimed workshops throughout the US and internationally.

Introducing the Texas Songwriters Cruise Songwriting Contest
The contest is open to songwriters who have not earned over $5,000 in songwriter royalties during the past calendar year. Entries must be written or co-written by entrant. Contestants may submit as many entries as they wish, within the following music categories:

Pop, rock/alternative, country, acoustic/folk, R&B/Hip Hop/Rap, Christian, Instrumental

Grand Prize

A cabin for TWO, aboard the Carnival Fun Ship "Ecstacy", during the 2nd Annual Texas Songwriters Cruise, (departing from Galveston Texas on December 2, 2006 and returning December 7, 2006).
Port fees, taxes, and meals paid in full (associated with the above-mentioned cabin).
Transportation for TWO, (within the Continental U.S.), to/from Galveston, Texas.
Complimentary passes for TWO, to attend the songwriting conference during the 2nd Annual Texas Songwriters Cruise.
