BMI SONGWRITERS WORKSHOP

Tuesday, August 24th

12:30 – 4:30 PM.

PLEASE NOTE: The August 24th workshop is full, but there are 5 slots that are filled “first-come-first-served” – and there are typically several “no-shows,” as well. You can sign up for one of those slots beginning at 9 AM on August 24th in the BMI lobby.

Sign-ups for the September 28th BMI Workshop begin the afternoon of August 24th. Registration is FREE -- but limited. Sign up through the calendar or event pages at www.bmi.com.

(If you secure one of these spots you can leave—then return to BMI by 12:15PM.)

There are occasionally also some “no show” slots that are released just before the workshop begins.

NOTE: Even if you have a reservation, arrive by 12:15PM—or your slot might be given away

The lecture topic will be “The Secrets of Successful Demos”

  • ·        Evaluating Demos of Hit Songs
  • ·        Learning How and When to Record a Demo
  • ·        Identifying What’s Right for Your Song
  • ·        Estimating Appropriate Budgets

SONG CRITIQUES

(Following the lecture each participant will have

an opportunity to have one of their songs constructively critiqued)

if you'd like to have a song critiqued bring a lyric sheet -- and a copy of the song on CD (a rough recording is fine) -- or be prepared to perform the song live
